Bear Lake

 

Jocelyn LOVED Madison's new birthday baby. The baby doll is bigger than Jocelyn! Jocelyn was also very intrigued with Steph's dog Mister. He was so good to sit there and get poked while she inspected him.

 We all got burnt while at Bear Lake, but no one as badly as poor Grandma Tobi. Grandma was sick for a few days and then she blistered! John had a few blisters and I actually peeled. The kids did not get anything like we did thankfully!

 

Grandpa Rodney came to play with us, he did not like Bear Lake. It was windy, which is normal for Bear Lake, but there was nothing for him to do since he didn't want to get wet. He was such a good sport though!

Canal Fun in the Country

 

The canal by our apartment was filled with water, yes they still water by irrigation here, so the kids went to play. They played until it was too dark and cold to continue doing so. Madison had to go to the bathroom while she was playing so she took off her bottoms and popped a squat right in the canal. I didn't notice until she was coming back up.

The Gavster - Gavin

We had fun meeting up with our Las Vegas cousins at the park. It was so much fun that we didn't get pictures of all the kids and people there to have fun. Uncle John and Aunt Nancy were getting ready to leave for the MTC, they were headed out to Chile to be Mission President! They'll be great!

Ragnar Fun

 

Although John didn't race in the Ragnar this year, the kids sat outside and jumped up and down while waving to the runners and cars that were passing by. It was so cute to see them setting up their chairs and eating breakfast outside to watch the runners outside! 

LaVerkin River Fun

 After Zions we went to stay at Steph's and Ikani's house for a couple of days. Because it was so close to Madison's birthday, we celebrated her 3rd birthday! Steph got her yellow plates and a yellow candle, her favorite colors. 

The next day we went to the LaVerkin River to play and have fun.

 Drew caught a frog! He was so excited that he caught it. Luckily for the frog he let it go before it accidentally got killed! 

 Alexis was having fun catching tadpoles in this pool, they were everywhere!

On our way out we saw this cool broken up bridge. It looked like it was usable at one time, but I wouldn't suggest it now. 

The kids had so much fun playing with Stephanie and Ikani that they can't wait to go back and play again!

Zion National Park

This picture is funny because we all walked up to the bridge so John could get a picture of us right before we left the hike and the park and this little Asian lady kept taking pictures of the kids. She assumed that we were stopping for her and she took a group shot of us before we were able to get John his picture. She was so happy that she got a picture of us, she kept saying Thank You! Hopefully they enjoy looking at us white folks over there!

On the last hike which was the lower pools, the kids found this little cut out from the rock. They hiked up to it so that they could get in it and have their picture taken. They were crazy climbers I tell you, I was very impressed at how much hiking they did with so little complaining! It does help that I took lots of snack for them to keep their energy up with!

We went for a car drive to see the famous tunnel and then we drove a little further down. We were following Dave & Jill and suddenly Drew yelled that he was going to throw up! Thankfully there was a pull off and Dave had just pulled over so we were able to get Drew out before he lost his cookies! They enjoyed playing in the sand where we stopped for a few minutes before we went back to camp. 

Zion National Park

All of these pictures are from the same hike. This was the last hike on the bus stop and the kids really liked it. They got to see and touch a beaver pelt, which terrified Jocelyn. When she saw it she started screaming and didn't want to be near it. She eventually warmed up to having her hand put on it. It was surprisingly soft. There was a big rock that the kids loved climbing up and sliding down, so much so that they tore holes into their shorts, some of which were brand new! We didn't actually finish the hike as the kids were getting hungry and we didn't plan on being gone so long so we hadn't packed enough for them. Although the water was fairly high and fast, we found a little pond that the kids could play in. It was too cold to actually get in, but they enjoyed touching it to see how cold it was. John was brave enough to walk a little way out into the river, but it was so cold he had to come back fairly quickly.
