Two month / Two Year

On Sunday the 19th Drew's foot was swelling and red/purple and itchy, it looked nasty. He'd been bite by something on Friday and if it hadn't been purple I would've waiting a little longer to take him in. I'd been watching it to see if it would go down but it just wasn't. Afraid that he might have cellulitis again, I took him into the doctor. (Yes, they are open on Sunday, it's great for me!) He said that it most likely wasn't cellulitis but he gave me a prescription to use if it didn't go down within about 24 hours. It did start to go down but it still looks bruised even now.

On the 20th I decided to be daring and take all four kids to the doctor by myself for immunizations. Ha, I should've known better. Jocelyn had to get her 2 month shots and Madison still needed to get her 2 year shots. While there they suggested that I give the three older ones the flu vaccine as well. So here's how it went down . . . John came home for lunch and we took him back to work. I took all the kids to a park to play while I fed Jocelyn before we headed for the doctors. We got to the doctors everyone unloaded and while I was finishing getting Jocelyn out Drew cried "Mommy I don't feel good" and then he lost his stomach contents in front of a car (not mine) twice. Not only did he get it all over the ground, but his feet were pretty covered too. We checked in and then I took all the kids to the bathroom to clean Drew up. Alexis and Madison decided that they had to pee while I was cleaning Drew, so by the time we got back to the waiting room they'd already called us, oops. Alexis made the doctor check her throat because it was hurting really badly, it was a viral something. Madison weighed in at 29 lbs, 67%, she measured 36.5 in, 88%. So for her height she is half a pound under weight! Jocelyn weighed in at 10 lbs even, 33%, she measured 21.5 in, 23% and her head measured in at 14.6 in, 13%. So she's .4 lbs over weight! Madison had to have one shot and she didn't even cry! I was very impressed. Jocelyn had to have three shots and with the first shot she screamed bloody murder and tensed up so much that she was literally pulling herself up off the table.

Then I load them all up and take them home for an hour before I have to go pick John up from work. As we're walking in from picking John up I look at Drew and yell to John to get a puke bucket fast. Sure enough, Drew lost it again, twice. Luckily he got it all in the bucket!

After dinner we busted to clean up the house because we had Melanie and Cody's family and the missionaries coming over. I wanted the kids to see what it is that Max is doing but the kids didn't feel well after their doctors visit so my plan didn't work out so well. But Melanie and Cody got to visit with the missionaries so the missionaries felt good that they were doing something I'm sure.

I was so glad when Monday came to a close. But then I had Tuesday. Alexis stayed home from school because she wasn't feeling well and sure enough she ended up losing her cookies too. I also discovered that Drew's epiglottis was nearly touching his uvula on Tuesday. Yes, his epiglottis. Google "visible epiglottis" it's pretty cool looking. It is not common, but it isn't abnormal unless it's swollen and they can't breathe, then you have a problem!

Wednesday Drew lost his cookies again.

Friday I packed everyone up for a trip to Spanish Fork for the BYU game and I went and took my psychology test. As a side note, I took my genetics test the Friday previous and I got an 80%, which doesn't sound great but I was above the class average sadly. According to his syllabus not many people get above a C. I will post all the fun we had in Utah County later, we're still exhausted and trying to recuperate from this weekend.

Lagoon

How do you like to get around Lagoon?

Drew had is very own stroller but preferred to hold on and lift his legs. More strength training for Grandma Tobi.

John's work reserved the entire park from five o'clock until eleven o'clock and we had a ton of fun! It was great not having lots of long lines to stand in and being able to move around.

Hee hee. We didn't know this ride would get you all wet.

Drew said this was his favorite ride but I wouldn't have guessed this was it.

John and I took Alexis and Drew on the boat that swings up and down and they LOVED it. They went three times in a row! Alexis said it was her favorite ride and I would have guessed it was Drew's favorite as well, or the "egg" ride.

This is the kid version of The Rocket.

Drew really liked this ride and insisted that I go with him on it. We went on the lady bug ride just like it and then this one to satisfy him. I HATE heights. The entire time I kept my eyes closed and kept thinking "oh the things we do for our kids!" I was so nauseated by the time we were done. I was so thankful that it was nearly time to leave.

Mommy on the dragon ride. All the kids loved this ride. Madison kept saying scawy, scawy. When I tried to tell her it wasn't scary she said: "dragon eat me?" She was afraid the dragon would turn around and get her. The kids decided they wanted to go on this again before the park closed. All three kids require an adult with them while riding this ride and Grandma Tobi was holding Jocelyn so she couldn't help. Thankfully a couple offered to take a kid each so all three could go at the same time.

Everybody LOVED Jocelyn's hat. Jana Hogenson made it for Madison when she was born and I love it!

We bought the kids some cotton candy and left them with Gma Tobi for a few minutes while John and I went to ride the White Roller Coaster. This is the best picture that we have of both of us!

It was a lot of fun and a great way to send Gma Tobi back to South Dakota. She left us Saturday morning in the wee hours to go back home. 

Saturday morning we watched the Top of Utah marathoners run past our house. 

I heard a bang and when I turned to look this lady had passed out on the ground. Her friend said that she had a history of heart attacks, I'm guessing congenital problem because she was skinny and probably in her twenties. She insisted on finishing the race and they allowed her, which amazed me.

Weekly things

An okay storm that rolled through. It brought some rain and thunder but nothing grand. It was nice to have a little storm, which is better than no storm!

This lovely animal, I think rooster instead of hen, made our backyard home for a day. 

Drew was being a good host and finding food for it. He would go out to the garden and catch a grasshopper, pull its legs off so they couldn't get away, and then he'd go right up to the rooster and throw it at him. You wonder why he didn't leave?

Madison found some shampoo and decided to wash her hair, while fully dressed.

Drew and Madison decided that toothpaste is fun to "paint" with.

. . . so she pushed this bucket over and helped herself.

And this is Jocelyn hogging my side of the bed. I get to sleep on the rest of the green blanket.

Uncle Ikani dressing Jocelyn while she kicks and screams. He accidentally put the shirt on backwards and had to calm her down before he could put it on the right way, which made her scream all over again. He had the magic touch though, he'd pick her up and she'd be happy as can be unless she was hungry.

Logan River Trail

We've been on this trail numerous times before and never seen as many snakes as we did with Ikani pointing them out. He was like the snake whisperer, everywhere he looked there seemed to be bunches of them.

We brought the stroller but Madison wanted to be piggy-backed instead.

Haus became the horsepower for the stroller when Alexis needed a break.

It was way too cold and he came running back!

Drew fell and cut his knee up. He was so brave, he held onto Mr.'s leash until someone took it and then he cried. He said he didn't want Mr. to get away so he had to hold onto it.

Aunt Stephanie wanted a bouquet of flowers but didn't have the money so she made Jocelyn into her own personal bouquet.

Menie and Cody came over to say good bye to Steph and they made us some fabulous pork steaks! MMM they were good!

Second dam

Steph, Ikani and baby Jaxsen.

Steph and Ikani came in Saturday morning at 1:00 am.

I told Steph to go around the back to get to our door. I should have realized that there were two back doors and specified which one but I didn't. So at about 1:00 am she walked into the neighbors house whispering "Tiffani, Tiffani, Tiffani!" She was a little shocked when our neighbor came out of the front room in his underwear asking who she was looking for. He was kind enough to tell her that we were downstairs and she was in the wrong house. I went to apologize to them the next day and I told him that I was glad it was her that went in first because her husband was a big football playing Tongan and that he might have had a heart attack if he'd seen him coming in at that hour. His eyes got really big and he agreed that he may have dropped a load if Ikani had been the one that had walked in instead of Steph.

Before we left, Steph was making fun of Drew's ears for not being cleaned out. He went inside and fetched a, yes only one, q-tip for Steph so she could clean them for him. (In the process he left the door to the house wide open the entire time we were gone.) Steph said: "I think you're so handsome" and then kissed him on the cheek. Drew said: "I think your pretty," then he checked both her ears and said: "I think you have pretty clean ears!"

Cody and Zed have been going to Second Dam for fishing and recommended that we go there as it was too cold to do any water activities. This is a picture of everyone lined up on the walkway fishing. Cody is the only one who caught something and Zed was not happy because it was with his pole and bait.

Yes, this is Aunt Pam fishing! Both she and Neil came up and spent a couple of hours with us. We love seeing them!

This is what Madison did. She was raiding everybody's food stocks and if she had something in her mouth there was something in her hand to replace it as soon as it was gone.

If Alexis and Drew were able to walk Haus and Mr. they were as happy as could be. If one of them came near Madison, she would scream and yell and run which made the dogs chase her even more.

When we loaded up to go home Madison kept saying: "Fun, fun, me hold on."
We told her to get into her seat but she insisted that she wanted to ride home holding on. She wasn't happy when we wouldn't oblige.

And this is the face of Madison after she's told mommy no. Yes, she tells me no often and she knows she's going to win when she's smiling like this.
