Alexis' shark teeth

In anticipation of Shark Week on Discovery Channel, Alexis started to grow a second row of teeth!

Unfortunately the dentist didn't think this was as cool as we did and he pulled the baby tooth that was in the way.

She was such a trooper, no crying. In fact she was so happy with how it went that she wants me to just take her to the dentist when her tooth gets loose so he can pull it and she doesn't have to deal with it! She thought that the numb lip was great fun and the fact that she got a prize plus a tooth fairy gift was great!

Little Jocelyn

Jocelyn is a bundle of joy and attitude. If she doesn't like what you're doing she'll push your face away while yelling at you - I'm not joking!
For her first year check-up she was in the 46% for height coming in at 20 inches. She was in the 3% for weight coming in at 17.8 pounds. Her head was in the 35%.  She's a cute tiny little woman.
She walks all the time and loves to carry a baby while she does so. She loves showers and baths and hoses and pools, so basically water. She has two teeth - the fastest any of our babies have ever gotten teeth! She got her third tooth on Aug. 9th. On that day she also said NO for the first time! I'm not sure we're ready for this. Thankfully she was saying it to the dog and not to us. She loves otter pops and fruit snacks - yes, I let her eat those! She is such a cute cuddle bug. We love having her!

Happy 1st Birthday Jocelyn

Starting with one finger swipes of frosting.

Getting a little bolder, fist fulls work well.

Jocelyn loved eating her cake or should I say her icing? She loved to pick up the purple icing and then she moved on to the other parts.

The kids had fun dressing up in Grandma JoAnn's clothes and running around in the back yard. They were all so sad when it started getting dark and it was time for them to all go to bed.

10K "run"

Beth still looks good - she would've had a better time if I hadn't been so slow. Maybe next time - ha - I'll do some training. (I did NO training whatsoever!) I finished in 1:15 which equals 12 minute miles! Not to bad for someone who hasn't ran in nearly a decade! I felt slightly worse when I realized that 70 year old people had finished well ahead of me and the fastest runners had finished in half an hour, yes, half an hour!

Yes, that's the finish line ahead! I barely made it.

Isn't she so cute? She was so excited to have mommy back, she's not used to having me gone during the morning routine.

After the run we watched the parade. Aunt Angie got to ride on a float this year! She rode with her graduating class - she doesn't seem old enough to be able to do that though.

Only here in Utah

Notice anything funny about this spoiler? Yes it's a snowboard.

Fiesta Days part 2

After we played at the library park we went to Jumpin' Jacks to play with John and Jessica Mills and kids. (I forgot to take pictures before they left.) The kids loved it and didn't want to leave, they asked to go back over and over again.

After we played at Jumpin' Jacks we went with the Paulks to ride in the Rzr and have fun. The kids loved it, especially the part where they found a dead something that had part fur part bones.

Then we ditched the kids and went to play with John's high school friends John Mills and Christian Ward and wives. We had a taste test of rootbeers followed by a rousing three hour game of Phase 10. (We may never play Phase 10 again.) The winners of the rootbeer taste test were: A&W followed by Howies. The worst was Dad's, it tasted like soap, most of us spit it out.
This day was crazy busy, but it was so fun!
Sunday we went to John's parents church and John got to teach Gospel Doctrine - yes, while on vacation! He did a great job!

Fiesta Days

At the rodeo. The kids were so excited to see the bulls. They weren't so excited to wait until the end. The entertainment was amazing this time, they had a lady who stood on the back of horses and did all sorts of tricks around the ring. This was a favorite this year as well.

Monday we went to the city Library park to play and have fun. Steph and Ikani played with us and then Cheryl and her family came to play too. Ikani was a great jungle gym for the kids - all the kids at the same time!
