Beaver Jocelyn

A normal smile for the camera.

Beaver teeth. She didn't realize that John had the camera still pointed at her and he was able to catch this. For just a few weeks this was her preferred method of smiling at people. She would walk all around doing this to everyone in the house and giggling. We have no idea where it came from but it was adorable while it lasted.

She realized that daddy still had the camera and the teeth disappeared again!

Hair cuts

Alexis had been begging to get her hair cut short for a while so I finally found the time to do it. It was supposed to be just slightly above her shoulder but she twisted her head on one of the last cuts and in order to even out the hair cut I had to take it to her chin. She loves it - mostly because she doesn't have to have her hair in a pony tail any more, and she doesn't get as many rats.

Daddy Date Nights

 

John took Drew to the Mountain Crest vs Skyview basketball game for a date night. Drew loved going and watching everything that was going on. John was surprised that Drew lasted for all of the JV and Varsity games, but the crowd was so into it that Drew was very entertained. Lots of people dressed up and that made it even more exciting for Drew.

For Madison's date with daddy they went for ice cream and to do some shopping. This is her I'm so excited face!

Alexis and daddy went to Chick-fila for dinner to spend one of Alexis' reading rewards that she'd earned at school. Then they went to the mall and did some browsing together and finished up with a walk through of PetSmart.

All the kids loved their time alone with daddy and they can't wait until they can go again!

Allowance Boxes

For Christmas John made each of the kids their own allowance box. It shows how much of their money they should put into each section. The kids look forward to pay day every week! These have been great boxes that we all love!

Putting light behind your hand does funny things!

This is a face we get frequently with Madison. It's her I don't love what you're doing but I'm not upset about it either, in fact you might be crazy.

Skating across the kitchen floor is a favorite of all the children.

"no giles a lawd. no giles a lawd."

Translation: No girls allowed. No girls allowed.

I'm fairly certain that Drew was behind the camera on most of these pictures since he was nowhere to be found in any pictures. The pictures of the "no girls allowed" sign also indicates that this would be a Drew picture spree. It is not uncommon to load the pictures onto the computer and find hundreds of pictures similar to these. Not all are as good as these, some are just black - but sometimes we get some cute ones from the kids' point of view.

Music Baby

Waiting impatiently for daddy to give her the earphones.

Jocelyn loves to do anything that anyone else is doing. The more grown-up it seems, the more she wants to do it. She loves to listen to dad's music through the ear-phones and then shake her booty. If you try and take away her fun she will throw a royal tantrum! She is most certainly a music baby - she loves the piano, songs on TV and the computer and she loves to shake it when there is music around.

Cremed

I made red velvet cupcakes - which were delicious - and then frosted them with a purple frosting. While Alexis was eating her cupcake she was talking about how fun it would be for her birthday if somebody pied her in the face. I don't know why she was thinking about it, but she kept going on and on about it. She wanted to know if it would be easy to do or if you'd know it was coming. Even if she knew it was coming she said she'd try not to duck it. I went and sat next to her while she was talking. When she was really into her one sided conversation I took her cupcake and smashed it in her face. She was so shocked! Then she was really excited that she'd been creamed. See that smile? It's not fake!
