Aunt Janice had been watching her for us until we could get a place where they allow dogs. She has a dog herself, Cooper, and the dogs could run and have lots of fun together, most importantly she'd said yes to taking Sandy. Yesterday Sandy got off her leash and she and Cooper went running around. Somehow Sandy got hit by a car on the highway during their escapade. We're hoping it was quick and painless for her.
Unfortunately, it was a lot more painful for Janice. Not only did she go and clean her up from the highway, but she buried her too. On top of all of that, she had to call us and tell us that our dog died. It is sad, but of all the times for her to go, now was the best for us. The kids have been away from her for a while now and I think the news won't be as hard as if they'd been playing with her yesterday.
Thanks for taking such great care of her Janice, we know she was happy there, we're glad she had a chance to have a good playmate for a couple of months!
