Logan River Fun

Gpa Rod is always good for a fun face when the kids are behind the camera.

Madison is trying not to step on any cracks while she's walking on the wooden bridge. Needless to say, she did not get to walk the entire length of the bridge not stepping on any cracks, there were too many and John was a little cold!

I would never leave my little lady in her pj's all day. What kind of parent does that? ;-)

John thought it would be great fun to go for a swim in the FREEZING COLD Logan River. Luckily he's a big boy and we don't have to listen to whining the entire way home when he pulls a stunt like this! The kids thought it was great but they weren't silly enough to follow after him. While on this walk I kept complaining to John that my shirt was really bugging my skin every time I moved. I had no clue the fun that I was in for!

Madison vs Camping Trailer

Just a week after hitting her head on the ground Madison ran into our neighbors trailer and caught a piece of metal with her face. It was a nice deep puncture that thankfully didn't need stitches. We used some glue and some butterfly bandages and although she still has a scar, it isn't too bad. One day Madison will catch a break and not keep half killing herself. Until then we just keep on learning all about medical care.

Our Garden's Bounty

 This watermelon came from our garden. It's our very first watermelon. It fits snugly into the palm of my hand. Pathetic? Yes. Adorable? Yes. And it tasted good!

 I took Jocelyn and Jordan on a walk to get the mail. Jocelyn had the sucker and wanted to share with Jordan. I told her babies can't have suckers so she should just eat it. Half way into our walk I look down and Jordan is going to town on the sucker. Jocelyn was so proud that she was sharing and that Jordan was loving the sucker. He never did let go of it, he finished it!

I don't know who got the camera this time but apparently diney (the stuffed dinosaur) being tucked into bed with Jordan's blanket was a big deal. Diney also got a suitcase full of things for him to do just in case he got bored.

Seizure

On the 15th of September Madison got to ride in an ambulance for the very first time - lets hope it's the last!

Madison is good at riding her bike with only two wheels! She decided to try and ride a tiny baby bike with no training wheels. Daddy told her no, mommy didn't know that daddy said no and mommy helped her get on and start going. Madison requested that I not let go of the bike but she knows how to ride so I let her go. She went the full length of our house before she crashed. No helmet. Although the helmet wouldn't have saved her this time. When she landed she hit her chin on the sidewalk. She let out a huge scream, not a normal scream. Both my neighbor Eric and I immediately started going for her because we'd seen how bad she'd hit and because of the scream. She stood up and I gave her a big hug and then she quit screaming. She went as rigid as a board, her arms tightened up and her mouth puckered up. She also quit breathing. (This is what a seizure will do to you!) I immediately put her on the ground and tried to get her to respond. When I realized that she was turning blue/gray I yelled at Eric to call 911. It took her nearly a minute to start breathing again. She was then out of it for about another minute or two, but she was breathing. She had her eyes open but she was just staring straight through me. About a minute later the ambulance showed up. They were fairly quick because they were on their way to a child who had been hit by a car! (They were just fine.) Because she quit breathing they took her by ambulance to the hospital to get her checked out. The "doctor" on call there was a blankety blank blank. He told me that what she did was normal and that I should go home and put her to bed! The nurse told me I should wake her up every couple of hours, the doctor didn't care if I did or not. He didn't know why we came in, this happens to kids all the time! I did however find out that the USU Aggies were winning their game and that he has marble counter tops! We won't be letting him look at our kids again! I woke her up for three nights because she wasn't quit right for a few days, but overall she's just fine. This did stop her poor mom's heart though. Apparently I can handle blood . . . missing part of a finger? Bite through your tongue and lip? Gash your head open? No big deal. Quit breathing - half kill your poor mom.

The Progession of a Sad Face to a Happy Face - Because of a Camera

 Utah has such beautiful sunsets!

 I canned for the first time ever! 23 bottles of peaches! Thanks to Aunt Carma they turned out wonderfully and they taste GREAT!

 Can you tell that she dressed herself? Drew's baseball helmet and Madison's tap shoes with a funny face are priceless!

 This nasty spider was BIG! The best thing to do when you see a big spider is to take a picture. Then it started to move. The best thing to do then is to kill it - quickly. When I hit it with my shoe it was a direct hit - usually a good thing. This happens to be a wolf spider. Wolf spiders carry their babies on their backs - the only spider that does this as far as I can find. When I squished this spider baby spider went flying everywhere! It still gives me the chills when I think of it. It was so wrong. I wish I had a better picture that showed the babies better. 

Madison was throwing a temper tantrum - again! Make up some reason for why she was throwing some tantrum, there are too many to guess from to give you exactly why. When you turn the camera on her though, she perks right up! This happens over less than one minute!

Lagoon 2013

 We learned that Jocelyn has a need for speed. This ride was not slow, it went around and around and around and then it would stop and go backwards! She LOVED it! Any big kid ride that she could get on she did. And she loved them all! She also did not pee for nearly EIGHT hours. She HATES public bathrooms, mostly because they have the toilets that flush by themselves. She refused to go pee at all while we were there. She didn't wet herself at all, even after falling asleep in the car on the way home! 

 John, Grandpa Rod and a baseball player for the Owlzz, who had never been to an amusement park before, all decided to do the big drop. Yes, they're all stupid. They survived and they didn't have to change their pants afterwards!

What little kid doesn't love Zu-Zu pets? Entertainment that lasts for hours!

Bird Watching

Alexis chose ice skating and Madison chose dance. Drew didn't want to do either of those and had a hard time coming up with something he wanted to do just for him. He finally decided on bird watching. Yep, bird watching. John, being the amazing dad that he is, took Drew bird watching once a week for a few hours. John had no desire to watch birds - at all - but he did it with a smile on his face just for Drew! Drew was so excited and got giddy every time it was time to go bird watching. He thought for sure he would find a new bird and get to name it!
