After taking Drew to the doctor on Wednesday, to find out he has Cellulitus again, we went to Sam's Club to get his medication. I agreed to buy them some Icee's if they were good while we waited and didn't whine and ask for everything they saw. They were good, so off we went to get the Icee's. The lady that was running the stand was not able to get to us for about two minutes because she was straightening the lids and straws, it was very helpful to have those looking great while we were waiting. Anyway, when she finally got to us Drew took a look, waited until she went to get the Icee's and then asked why she had a red face. Why aren't kids ever quiet when they ask questions like this? I'm sure you've all seen people like this, they wear so much makeup that it looks like Halloween year-round? Well, lets say that her cheeks rivaled Raggedy Ann's. I explained that some people put make-up on to look pretty, this seemed to satisfy him. But, it gets better. The lady brings us our Icee's, she did not spit in them, I thank her, she politely smiles and Alexis says "Mom her teeth are disgusting. She needs to brush them." Again, where is the waiting until out of ear shot or whispering it so quietly that I couldn't hear it? I explained as quietly as I thought I could that it was impolite to point out things like that, especially when they can hear you. She looks at me and says "but mom, it's the truth," honestly whose child is she?
The next morning Alexis comes and climbs in bed with me and at some point she snuck out. She came back and woke me up to tell me that daddy said she had to go back to bed it was too early. I told her to lay down and go to sleep then, I was still tired. When I woke up she was gone. I went downstairs and she looked up and smiled at me while watching her cartoons. She told me that she snuck out of my bed after she heard daddy leave, then snuck into her room and peeked out the window to make sure that he was gone before she went downstairs to watch her cartoons. I do love my clever little munchkin.
Today all three kids came and climbed into bed with me. When I asked why they were all in bed with me Alexis pipes up with "we don't want to go downstairs, daddy might tell us to go back to bed." Funny us parents wanting them to sleep until the sun rises. One day they'll have kids of their own and understand why they get sent back to bed so frequently.
Drew has decided that when he's wearing his lion costume for Halloween he's going to go and steal everyone's candy. This upset Alexis so much she burst into tears. I assured her that he was joking and thinking that he would follow suit asked him to tell Alexis he was just joking. But no, he assured her that he was not joking and he was going to steal everyone's candy. She went upstairs to cry it out. When she came back I asked her if he was big enough to steal big kids' candy, or to take her stuff or my stuff. She said yes and went back upstairs crying. Drew did eventually tell her that when he takes his lion costume off he'll give back all of the candy, but when he's a lion he has to steal all the candy. I love little boys and their imaginations and little girls and their pre-teen mood swings.
Madison has taken up throwing little fits. Does it really surprise you? When she gets upset, whether or not it is genuine, she'll put her little hands over her mouth and occasionally she'll put them over her eyes. Sometimes we'll get lucky and she'll peek out from behind her little hands to see if we're still watching her. One of my favorites though is when she goes and folds herself in half with her butt poking up in the air and then she covers her eyes while she cries.

Busy, busy
Each weekend has been packed to the brim with things to do. This was our first weekend that even though we drove to Spanish Fork, we were able to sit and enjoy doing nothing. John went to the BYU vs TCU game, what a disappointment, and that is all we had planned for the entire weekend, how nice!
In between traveling back and forth between Logan and Spanish Fork, everyone one of us got sick, I'm pretty sure it was the swine flu but we didn't get it tested. Madison got the worst of it, she's still recovering, but she had some nasty lung issues for almost a week before she started getting better.
I went to see Dee Stevens a chiropractor, after I woke up with a neck that wouldn't move at all. Turns out that I had two subluxated discs in my neck that were pinching off nerves, I also had one hip higher than the other. After he adjusted me, I was able to move my neck, I was no longer in excruciating pain and my pregnancy symptoms disappeared. Overall, well worth the visit.
This last week Alexis stayed with Grandma Hakes for five days. She didn't miss me much until Friday when she called me every hour until Grandma banned her. When she called she couldn't tell what I was saying occasionally and instead of telling me to repeat myself, she would giggle and say "that's nice" even though it wasn't applicable. Grandma let her stay up until as late as 1:30 am!! Alexis sure loved staying with grandma!
I took my chemistry test this week and presented my SIDS and microbiology paper! I did great on both counts and I'm so exited to have them done and out of the way!

Max's missionary farewell
Max officially entered the MTC on Wednesday.
He was set apart on Tuesday night by President Wadley, who happens to be my father-in-law.
Max's talk went well. When he gets nervous he starts to giggle uncontrollably and he shakes. He did both, but he made it through the talk and when he remembered to breathe he did great.

Heather's funeral

Jana Hogenson's sister, Heather was killed in the bus crash in Idaho shortly before we had Irelynn's blessing. Mom got the message from Jana just shortly after it happened, while on her move back to Utah.
Because I'm not a great writer, I cut and paste different things from local articles. I did put where I got them so I'm not plagiarizing.
Heather Christensen, 33, was the only person killed Saturday night when the bus carrying the school's band members swerved off Interstate 15 and crashed just north of the Utah-Idaho border. Students who were on board the bus said the driver blacked out and Christensen jumped up and took the wheel, saving their lives.
Volunteer firefighter Gregg Mix of Inkom, Idaho, sent KSL News pictures, tracing the bus' path. In an e-mail, Mix wrote: "...the bus threaded the needle between the rock pile and the viaduct drop off..."
The bus went right between an outcropping of lava rock, and a 12-foot embankment--a cattle viaduct. According to Mix, hitting either at full speed would have meant greater disaster.
"It is a miracle that this bus took the only path possible to avoid a great tragedy," Mix wrote. (http://www.ksl.com/?sid=8275399&nid=148)
(Leah Hogsten / The Salt Lake Tribune)
The tribute seemed almost knightly -- swords replaced by trumpets, flutes and trombones that rose in royal fashion as the casket of American Fork High School woodwind instructor Heather Christensen was slowly marched to a waiting hearse.(http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_13585767)
We sat in the family section at the funeral, which was huge, and following the casket out, we were immediately in the middle of the band playing their tribute to her. Everyone had to walk through the path the band lined to get out, which meant that no one was able to get out of the building without ending up in tears. I thought I'd been doing well at controlling the tears until Eric said the closing prayer, which was amazing and then walking through the beautiful music, it was truly amazing and they both made me cry.

Drew's third birthday!
For Drew and his cousin Cameron's birthdays we took everyone riding!
John's Great Aunt Ruth had died and so we were missing the immediate Wadley family members as they were at the funeral for the first half of the riding.
Josh Paulk was a little speed demon and Denny loved jumping the four wheelers.
I think everyone had a good time and most of us weren't ready to leave when it was time.
Before we went riding, we had a big Wadley family picture taken in Payson Canyon. I would have posted it, but the guy who took it is still apart of the dark ages and you have to buy the pictures from him in packages. So just imagine all five siblings with their spouses and children and Mom and Dad Wadley all in fall colors. It turned out nicely.
John wanted an alligator in the water for fun but we never got around to finding one to put in there.
We ended up having the birthday party in the church because Canyon View Park was closed. The kids, read kids and husbands, loved having room to run around and play ball.

No answers but good news. . .
So, everything is perfectly normal and my body is doing what it should. Except for the small problem of having all the pregnancy symptoms. I don't think that men truly appreciate these because if they did the doctor would not have told me the following. . .
He told me to wait two more months to see if it works itself out.
Anyone who knows me knows that that is not an answer I like but I can't complain as everything seems to be good on a base level.
