More baby

This happened two days after giving birth.

Alexis: Mom when is your tummy not going to be fat any more?

Me: I just had a baby, remember how fat it was? It's going to take a little while to go down.

Alexis: But when is it going to be flat again?

Two days after that.

Alexis: Mom! You're tummy isn't as fat today!

I know she loves me. Hopefully she doesn't say things like this to people who wouldn't appreciate such comments. Pray for us.

First bath. She didn't like it - enough said. She did however enjoy her second bath.

Drew being a silly nut. 

Alexis' camera abilities at work again. We thought it looked pretty cool. Even though she looks like an innocent little person, she's one clever little girl.

She has such long feet.

I love her hairy little back. I'm sure she's going to be mad at me later in life for this picture, but I think it is so cute! I love little baby fuzz.

They like sitting in their "boats" while watching t.v.

I was trying to get a picture that shows how she was curled up inside of me but she wanted nothing to do with being curled back up that tightly. Who can blame her?

If you look at all four swings you'll see how high he's getting them. I didn't know that they were swinging that high and when I looked out the door I about had a heart attack. They of course love it and request John to do it over and over again.

Five days old. She's already losing her hair and being more wakeful each day.

23rd of July

On the 23rd we went to the Veterans Memorial Pool to play with Michelle and kids. We'd planned on going before lunch but it didn't open until after lunch so the kids had a long wait.

Daddy and Drew were buds and they had fun hanging out and going down slides too.

Alexis would follow Madison and help her go down the little kid slide over and over and over again.

Yes, I wore a bikini the day I went into labor, in public. One lady came up and told me that she wished she'd been so brave. I wasn't sure how to take that.

After swimming we went and met Cheryl's family for dinner in the park.

I forgot to include these cute story in the carnival post.

While we were driving down to the carnival I heard from the back of the van Drew telling Alexis: "I know what you're thinking and don't even think about doing it!" She apparently was going to do something he didn't want her to and I couldn't help but laugh at how he told her not to.
All the way back to Grandma JoAnn's the kids were asking for some soda. Even though we were all dying of heat and needing a drink I refused to let them open the soda in the car. Right when we pulled up I heard a big pop from the back of the car. Alexis had decided to repeatedly hit the can with the extra seat belt next to her, and the can ended up exploding all over the roof. Drew said that it looked like a whale spout! Lesson learned - Alexis and Drew will no longer be hitting soda cans with anything.

July 24th!!

5 lbs 15 oz, 29 in.

Look at the proud daddy!!

Friday night I was contracting and dilating so we went to the hospital. Guess what . . . all the dilation stopped when we got there. Yep, again. I was still contracting every five minutes but according to the nurse it was doing nothing.

Eric was kind enough to tell them to keep me and he was coming to break my water. HOORAY!

When they went to put in my IV we had a lot of fun. She got my vein, after nearly digging my vein out of the skin and then it blew. That doesn't feel so good. She moved to the next arm and started again. Again the same thing but when she said it looked like it might blow too I told her to take it out before it did. She went and got another nurse and this time after some intense pain she was able to float it in and get it to stay. (My arm is still swollen and bruised from their pokings.)

At about midnight he came and broke my water.

My contractions didn't start hurting like they had in the past after my water was broken and they were slowly picking up pace without picking up intensity.

At about one I had the anesthesiologist come and give me the epidural even though they weren't too bad so that I wouldn't have to feel the bad ones.

At 1:10 they checked and found that I was at a 7.

At 1:20 I had the anesthesiologist come back and push another entire dose in because the right side wasn't numb at all and the contractions were hard and about every minute. They never really got to the point where they were leveling out and staying there so I figured we had a while to go.

At about 1:30 they checked me again and I was complete and she was already coming down. They broke the bed down and got everything ready for her to come and then her heart rate started dropping and Eric told me I had to get her out or he'd get her himself. I think I actually pushed through three contractions - I wasn't pushing with the first contraction because I didn't see a purpose in pushing if my body would do it on it's own. When they told me about her heart rate though I actually had to start pushing. She popped out at 1:44 a.m. and was a bluish. She did really well at pinking up and hasn't had any problems since.

When I'm more alert and less dead I'll post about her first day and put some more pictures up.

The first meeting with her big brother and sisters.

Drew loves his little boo-boo. He is happy to see her and hold her or to go and play, which ever happens to suit him at that time.

Madison loves "my baby". She always asks to hold "my baby" and gets very frustrated when you take her back. 

Alexis also loves holding Jocelyn. If she could hold her all day she would. When Jocelyn started crying, while Alexis was holding her, because she was hungry, Alexis told me she didn't mind if the baby cried because she knew that babies cried so I didn't need to take her, she'd be fine. Too bad Alexis can't feed her, it would save me a lot of pain currently!

Carnival

Drew had fun having Aydian with him on some of the rides, especially this one where they both enjoyed playing in the water.

If I'd been using more brain cells, I wouldn't have bought the cotton candy. The kids were all sticky messes afterwards and I didn't have wipes with me to clean them up!

Madison was so excited to find a yellow chicken as she called it.

Grandma Tobi took the kids on a ride that they can spin around in circles, hence the reason the pictures are a little blurry. Grandma and Drew felt sick afterwards and Alexis said it was their own fault since they were spinning it.

Do you  notice Alexis' big grin on the roller coaster? Two years ago she was crying on this ride because she was so scared. Madison is sitting next to her and Drew in the car behind her. Alexis seemed to like this ride the most out of all the kids.

My kids for whatever reason do not smile much during rides. Compare the two pictures above and you'll see Alexis waiting for the ride to start and then the next picture where she's behind Drew and Madison, you can see she's already done.

The last ride they did was the slide fun house, for lack of better wording, and they both said it was their favorite - go figure that they would like the "ride" that they have to work at.

I tried to get their faces as they came down the slide but I completely missed Alexis'.

This is so dark but I still thought it was cute.

Grandma Tobi was inundated with little kids wanting to share the hammock with her. As the kids said, they were "visiting family".

Madison went nuts last nights. She would climb into the hammock and then position herself right on the edge and purposefully fall out and land on the ground. She did this over and over and over again. Then she took a break and went and climbed on top of Grandpa Bob and would jump off of his legs. When she had her fill of that she went and got a big orange ball and would bounce/flip off of that. Then she ended with doing more hammock falls. Needless to say, it didn't take much to get her to fall asleep last night.
