For July 5th we decided to head up to Bear Lake to play. After preparing all morning I walked outside to get in the car and the wind was blowing, not a gentle breeze, but a hurry and get in the car before the door hits your butt breeze. We still went.
All day John and the kids reminded me of a daddy duck with his little ducklings following behind.
Yes, that's my big 35 week belly. Because it was so windy and cold I didn't put any sunscreen on myself. Yes, it got sunburned on one half of my belly. Maybe little girl will come out with a tan!
The kids were so cold that they would climb in the raft to get warm on the vinyl. Grandma even climbed in a couple of times, and once she fell in.
Grandma and Alexis were playing "tennis" as Alexis calls it. They were both having a lot of fun, which means that they both stink and it was never hit more than once. It was fun to see them running to try and get that second hit though.
If you look in John's glasses, you can see me tanning my belly.
A little girl was selling these hair things to help earn money for a motorcycle, seems backwards doesn't it? John bought one for each kid. Yes, he bought one for Drew too. How can you leave out just one kid?
They each got to pick their very own. Both girls chose small ones and Drew chose the biggest one he could find!
After Bear Lake we did fireworks in the driveway. John had said that he had fireworks for us so I hadn't bought any. About an hour before it was time for fireworks I found out that he had 6 ground blooms and some sparklers. Needless to say I sent him packing to the store to get some actual fireworks for the kids. I thought he'd come back with a few and we'd be good. But, he found a $150 box on sale for $50 so. . . we have a lot of fireworks now! We did about a third of the box and we're saving the rest for the 24th. The kids thought it was great and can't wait until we can do it again. The sparklers we had didn't light so it was a good thing John went running when he did!
